Her Majesty The Queen became President of Maggie's in November 2008.
Marking the start of 30 years of Maggie51ɫAPPs
In January, Her Majesty The Queen praised Maggie51ɫAPPs for its care and support for people impacted by cancer over the last 30 years, in a special speech to mark 30 years of Maggie's expert care and support.
In her speech, Her Majesty commended Maggie's for creating places where people “needn’t pretend to be fine, where they can receive expert support, sympathy and a cup of tea…”

Her Majesty The Queen's centre visits
Passionate and committed to our work, and one of our greatest advocates. We approached Her Majesty to request her formal appointment as Maggie's President in 2008.
As Maggie51ɫAPPs President, Her Majesty has brought great joy to many of the people who use our centres, and we are hugely grateful for her passion and continued unswerving commitment.
Since 2008, Her Majesty has visited many of our centres in England, Scotland and Wales.
Her visits made a huge impact and her warmth and generosity of spirit were greatly appreciated by everyone who met her.
- 2008: Her Majesty becomes Maggie's President after visiting Maggie's in Edinburgh. Visits Maggie's in West London.
- 2009: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Dundee to formally open the garden
- 2010: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's in Cheltenham
- 2011: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Nottingham building site before it opened
- 2013: Her Majesty formally opened Maggie's in Aberdeen, officially opened the garden at Maggie's in Swansea and revisited Maggie's in Dundee
- 2015: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Newcastle
- 2016: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's in Manchester
- 2017: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Oxford
- 2018: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Glasgow
- 2019: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's in Cardiff and revisits Maggie's in Aberdeen
- 2020: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's at The Royal Marsden and visits Maggie's, Barts
- 2021: Her Majesty revisited Maggie's in Edinburgh to mark our 25th anniversary and visits Maggie's in Highlands
- 2022: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's in Southampton
- 2023: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Glasgow
- 2024: Her Majesty formally opens Maggie's in The Royal Free
- 2025: Her Majesty visits Maggie's in Fife
